    Sorry, dude, but the OP had a flashing SES (misfire detected) in the 2001 Northstar car, took it to AZ and their scanner came up with "Misfire - Cylinder 8".

    SOME earlier models will readout the misfiring cylinder - the 2000 - 2004 DTC program in the FWD cars will not: You need an external scanner to pick up the 4th digit in the misfire code............ which is why Post #2 advised the OP to get an external scan.

    FWIW, in this series of cars a steady SES is an emissions fault; flashing is misfire.

    WRONG -
    P0300 is a generic misfire code -
    our on-board code readers will not display WHICH cylinder/cylinders is/are misfiring -
    only that there IS a misfire -

    take the car to any large auto parts store - they will check your codes for free -

    P0301 is a misfire in cylinder #1 - P0302 is cylinder #2 - P0303 is #3 - etc -
