You still can't Reflash the PCM with that. In order to install the Z rated parameter, you would have to wipe the computer, and do a fresh install. You simply can't do that with a Tech 2. ALl it allows you to do is control various outputs during test, and read DTC's and Freeze frame data...ect. I have tried to use a Tech 2 to reprogram a car, and it doesn't work like that. There's a whole seperate workstation that is used to reflash an entire module. Vetronix does make another scantool like device that is capable of reflashing the PCM but it's not easy to find, and muhc more expensive then the Tech 2. I don't know many dealers that carry them either. That workstation is a proprietary piece of equipment as well, so you won't be able to purchase one yourself unless you know a guy, who knows a guy if you catch my drift. It's just like any other manufacturer out there. There is some equipment that can do some things which everybody can buy, and then there's the few pieces of equipment thaTdo everything, that no body can buy. It's just liek Mercedes with their SDS machine, or Ford with their WDS machine. They'll reprogram any module in any car, but you can't buy one.

If it helps anyone who is using this to make a purchase decision... Any car that came with "W" rated tire is also unlimited as well as the "Z" rated tires. So if this is important to you a "W" car will work as well as a "Z" car!

My '02 has "W" tires... no limit... Other than air friction!
