Well, I'm getting a new roof out of it, so that's a plus. Not sure if I ever posted about it, but it lifted in the center behind the sunroof last year. I had it reglued, but there's 2 or 3 1/4 inch tears at the rear corners of the sunroof opening. Almost invisible, but they're there. And I guess it'd have needed to be replaced eventually anyway, it is 13 years old.

My first impression of this shop is VERY good. The people are very personable, and seem very knowledgeable, even the receptionist. They gave me their full attention while I was there. I looked around at some of the work being done. VERY nice. The seat covers they make fit very nicely, no loose or tight areas, stitching/seems match the contours of the seats with no "wobbles". Everything looked very much factory. There was actually a set of black Seville front seats there waiting to be done, a customer is putting them into a custom 40's Chevy.

I think I found the shop who's going to do my Alcantara headliner and seat reupholstering/inserts . But that's for another time.

    ----------

Some pictures from their website. The work I saw in person was just as nice:

Are they doing replica seat covers (I am thinking my driver's seat). I mean not just some cover that you put over, I want exactly the same as factory with heated seat elements glued under and all?

Yes, replica replacement upholstery, not a "cover". I'm sure the heater elements would be no problem at all, that's basic.

I haven't discussed prices with them yet, I'll ask my questions when I drop the car off for the roof/glass work. My plan is higher quality leather on the seats with perforated Alcantara seat and door inserts. MAYBE some contrasting stitching (red, but not bright red?). Don't want it to look "ricey".

Ok, back and forth all day with the insurance company, long story short, my regular insurance is going to pay for the roof, but they're not sure weather or not I'll have to pay a deductible.

To be honest, I'll be more than happy to pay $300 for a $1,500 roof.

If you can ask what kind of price they will charge for an exact replica seat (I can glue the heated seat elements myself), I can even provide them with the seat cover to use as template).

    Will do N*.

    ----------

Keep in mind, that a good installation is a part of having the cover fit and look right. So if you would be putting the new "cover" on yourself, be ready to play with it for a while to get it perfect.

    The adjuster came today.

He knew he was here for a broken window. He looked at the car, and said "I have no idea what I'm here to find out or what they want me to tell them. The window's broken, but they knew that already".

So he was as confused as I was as to what the point of having him look at the car was.

My dad had his 2000 STS rear window replaced under insurance......over $1100 with parts and labor. Definitely not cheap glass.

'96-'98 listed as the same part number?

There are several companies that make replica covers. I looked in to them while I was looking for seats. Lots of fitment problems reported on forums. Leather quality varies.

After several emails and sending pictures, one company that advertises custom "covers" made to order, and even has a bespoke service, told me that they don't have anything available for my model.....

    But...you take CUSTOM orders?

That company was actually one of the more well known ones. I basically lost trust and interest in any of the online suppliers.

    $560 for a new rim. 7-10 days.

The Vigor's going to get a winter workout...

    ----------

Oh, my rims are only that dirty because I can't have the car washed with the shattered window. Lol.

Son of a bitch, looks almost as bad as when my wheel was damaged this past spring. Ask the guys at http://www.wheelcollision.com/ about a repair on it, might save ya some money.
