clunking rattling noise from the rear

I have an 2003 STS and for the last 6 months I have been hearing this rattling/clunking noise coming from the rear right side of the car. I have checked the trunk and the door to locate the noise and everything was fine. Took it to the shop and had suspension and exhaust components checked and everything was tight. has anyone had this problem with their car? It has been driving me crazy for the last 6 months.

    Thanks.

Is this noise bump related? A clunk could be a loose shock mount, but the shop should have checked that. Control arm bushing?

Ranger yes when going over bumps. It is very loud when going over big bumps to the point of feeling like the car is about to fall apart. I would have thought a shock mount as well. There is no noticeable change in the ride. I guess I need to take it back and have it checked again.

PROBLEM SOLVED! It was the bolt that attaches the body to the chassis at the right rear that was loose.

there is no separate chassis, these are unibody cars.
