Out of every forum I'm on you seriously have the worst luck of anyone I've read about. I wouldn't even recommend buying a lotto ticket surely you'll win but what would happen on your way to cash it?...
I'm fairly aware I'm most interested in the Y and after section, the rest can be fabbed by my guy. Won't be as pretty but I am very interested to hear how the 4.9 will sound.
Damn MC do you have a please screw me shirt or something your wear around? I swear any work done by 90% of shops is screwed up. I give the hell up a long time ago. When I get too old I'll buy new with lifetime warranty from a dealer.
Wow, what a completely worthless joke the BBB must be.
My complaint was very clear and VERY detailed. I went over all the points (Buisness owner promised a top notch install. Parts were damaged out of negligence. Parts were damaged because of improper installation. Parts were damaged because of unauthorized modification, which also voided the warranty. Business owner told me to go F myself.....). The shop owner responded to the BBB saying that all cars are different and modification is necessary, and that he offered to replace the resonator...
I responded to the BBB, letting them know (in different wording) that this was not the pre Model T era, and cars are built to within a few mm of each other, not to the nearest inch. That others on this forum with identical cars have installed the system without any modification, and that if modification was required, the pipe coming out of the cat should have been cut more, not the Corsa pipe. I also brought to their attention (again) that he was only willing to pay for one out of 4 parts that he damaged, and that even if they were replaced, the warranty would still be void.
The BBB responded that the buisness made a reasonable attempt to resolve the problem...
What attempt?!?!?! They refunded me the measly $170 install charge, and left me with a scratched, dented, still not quite straight, $1,200 exhaust with a void warranty. Bravo BBB.
Welcome to 2013, when THEY'RE all correct and anyone who complains is politically incorrect. You were shafted by a bureaucracy.
Most BBB personnel are local business people - it's pretty much CYA.
Google the names of your Senators and Congressmen - raise the roof - these people don't like bumps in the status quo. They all consider themselves as The Untouchables, but once in a while ....................
Had court this morning. I tried a mediator (which I knew wouldn't work, but it looks good for me at trial). He was moronic and rude to the mediator, some real stupid stuff came out of his mouth... . Anyway, it's going to go to trial next.
You do not automatically get paid if you should win.
If he doesn't care to pay you, you will need to go after him.
You'll need to know where he does his banking.
Oh, and, are you gonna let him install the new one?
Oh I'll go after him if I have to. I believe there's also a way to have his wages garnished.
And um, no, he's not putting the new system in. I'll take it to the shop who's done my exhaust work for almost 10 years. Bay State Muffler (formerly Lou's Custom Exhaust) of Peabody.
I answered your PM - For your evidence file, download the color instruction sheets from the CORSA site - and they're packed with each system. The first page is clearly marked to "Follow the directions" and the install is so simple even a caveman could do it.
If I did a writeup of my installs it would mirror the printed instructions - including the CORSA caution to "Measure twice, cut once".
Lousy work - all around. My system is 6.5 years old and the tips are glittering, polished s/s - not a scratch.
Look closely at this picture: The cat pipe hanger bar goes UNDER the pipe, not over. I think the resolution is high enough that a picture editor could be used to zoom and crop. (EDIT: see the last post in this thread )
