    Transaxle Question?

    I have a 1995 SLS, while removing the radiator,I removed the lower transaxle cooler hose. and ran across alot of pressure when i cracked it loose, alot! Is that normal?

    No trans issues? Than I would say that is normal. My trans died and I had no pressure. Consider yourself fortunate.

    With the engine off there should be no pressure anywhere in the cooler fluid circuit.............. the top cooler line (return) fitting is the one you pull and tap into to use a hose and bucket to pump all the fluid out of the transmission while doing a complete exchange. There has been no pressure in the cooler in the cars I have done.

    Somewhere in these forums, someone posted a circuit diagram of transmission fluid flow - to/from all 3 supply/scavenge pumps and torque converter.

    Thanks for the input, I guess nest i'll look for a pressure relief valve clog.

    There should be oil coming out of the lower line when you crack it.
    What do you consider pressure? Is if spraying out like a garden hose or just running out?
