Re: resistor shocks for 92 eldorado

Which Eldorado model ?? I believe the ETC had active suspension, which would need to "fool" the suspension control systems if you went with inexpensive struts front, shocks rear. The ESC did not have an active suspension, so the resistors would not be needed.

The active struts/shocks have a wiring harness pigtail connected to each; the passives do not.

JimD would know, but the resistors are a common 4.7 KOhm carbon or metal film power resistor sold at Radio Shack - dirt cheap.

Google "cadillac forums eldorado suspension resistor install" or something close, always preceded by "cadlilac forums .......................".

4.7K OHM is for CVRSS cars ('97+). RSS is different.

Please don't start multiple threads in the same subject.

There are replies in your other thread, the resistor trick does not work on pre '97 cars.

Re: resistor shocks for 92 eldorado

gizmodon09, Please do NOT start multiple threads on the same problem in the same car. One thread is sufficient. As posted, if you had gone back and read your original thread you would have seen several posts with advice. Thanks for the consideration.

Re: resistor shocks for 92 eldorado

This is the THIRD thread you have started concerning the same problem. Every time you post another thread on the SAME question you take up server space, dilute your original question, and force members offering advice to jump from thread to thread in order to keep up.

It has ALL been moved to this, your most recent thread - leave it here....... and go back through this thread and read it ALL, please !

once again - with more feelings this time -

the resistor "trick" will NOT work on your RSS type suspension system -

you need to tap into - and add a relay to satisfy the SERVICE SUSPENSION message -

look in the suspension forum - here

Based on a particularly insulting PM, the OP will not be around for a while.

gizmodon09, Contrary to your PM, I did answer your initial question, and opened the field for additional advice from other members - which you received. It's all in here.
