My STS2001 has 109K miles and stalled twice in the last 2 months at low speed. I am changing the spark plugs and boots. There is npo code for ckp. I am not sure if I should change ckp sensore as well or see if car stals after changing the spark plugs or not. Also I see at rockauto that there are lower engine ckp and upper engine CKP. Do I need one each? CKP from standards is much cheaper than AC delco. Any idea about buying the cheaper one from Standards
Your engine takes 2 CKP's - each different. Buy the AC Delco replacements (if necessary) and they'll fit and work correctly. I have no idea of which companies buy the DENSO (AC Delco) CKP's and re-brand them.
More pictures in my albums and in RockAuto. Your best bet might be to talk to Chris in Parts at Rippy Cadillac tomorrow morning - over there >>>
Zoom in on the picture - the part numbers are the second number from the bottom of each package.

Re: ckp sensor for STS2001
Being an '01 and randomly stalling with no DTC's points to CKP sensors. GM had a bad supplier from 2000-2003. Change them both. I did mine last summer and got them both on Amazon for $77 with free shipping.
I think I may have the bad ones on my daughters '04 SLS. Hard to believe they have never been changed at 134K.
