    What do you wipe with?

Now that I have your attention
My STS's windshield wipers clean pretty good right now but they are tearing where they attach to the arms. I don't know who made them. Do you guys have a preference on brands and models? I can start looking for a deal online. We have our typical rainy season in the spring, thunderstorms in the summer, and frost, ice and a little snow in the winter. It's never the same two years in a row. Thanks.

The thread title: I usually use TP, but in a woods emergency, a handful of leaves will do.

For the windshield, I use Trico articulated wiper arms and change the refills twice a year. Sometimes Rain-X has a sale on blade refills, so I get those.

Thanks Sub. I haven't changed mine out in years. I'm overdue.

Be careful what kind of leaves you use!

I usually try to stick with OEM. I think that is ANCO.

I use the cheapest. Cold and ice is not so much of a threat in Texas, but summer heat really cooks them. Expensive or cheap, name brand or not, they all need replacement after or during the summer, and a new cheap set wipes better than an old expensive set.

Not sure what it is, but wipers just don't last around here. Road salt probably something to do with it in the winter, but in the summer ??? the local air/smog?

No matter how much or how little they're used, no matter how clean they're kept. Most can go no longer than 2 months or so before they streak and get noisy when they "flop over". The best I've tried have lasted ~6 months, Rainex Fusions. I put a set in my mothers car and conversion van, and they lasted about the same. Right now, I'm using Michelin Stealth Ultras, and so far so good after ~the same amount of time as the Rainex's. the mount on the Rainex's is sleeker looking though.

I would think they put more strain on the wiper motor - and shorten it's life -

where does the crap between the multiple edges go? -

    I use ANCO -

Multi blade wipers serve absolutely no purpose. They're just (really stupid looking) bling.

I wasn't even thinking about THOSE things -

I was referring to the "triple-track" type blades -
3 edges on the same blade -

Oh. Yeah, I tried them a LONG time ago on my '91 Accord, I forget which brand. They didn't work very well.
