Re: How many MPG are you getting in your N* Seville/Eldo?

honestly, The fuel cleaner helped me out. Also when you WOT (wide open throttle) you clow out alot of excess garbage floating aroudn in your car's guts. That kind of stuff will ahmepr emissions thus the engine ahs to push harder to get otu exhaust, leaving you with an emptry gastank. I find that my Eldo Only needs to do about 12500 rpms to maintain 65 mph. I only tap the pedal for a split second and coast, The car is good aerodynamically, adn doesnt lose too much speed while nto accelerating. When I do accelerate, I do it slowly so that in inst mpg reads about 17 (this is while ont he highway and amintaning speed). You dotn really need to touch the gas when you get moving..If all else fails, use cruise control

Re: How many MPG are you getting in your N* Seville/Eldo?

Fuel economy varies directly with speed. For me, if I do 50 I'll get like 35, 60 is 30, 70 is 25, 80 is 24, 150mph is 12mpg.

Re: How many MPG are you getting in your N* Seville/Eldo?

92 4.9 Eldorado...20mpg mixed. k/n filter, fpr just replaced, cap(brass terminals) & rotor replaced, tranny fluid change so far...and real crappy allignment and tire are marginal filled to 44psi. I think once I get a full tune-up plugs/timing done, new tires and alignment I might pull a few more mpgs. I have not taken the car on a big trip. Once my wife is done with her school this weekend we will drive the car from Mlps,MN to Grand Forks,ND that should be a good highway trip! The car has 117000 on it. To me this car is one of the best Caddys ever made

Re: How many MPG are you getting in your N* Seville/Eldo?

My 2000 Eldorado ESC will get 18-19 stop/go city. On the highway I usually get about 23 mpg. I use Shell V-power. Of course I have only had the dream machine for a couple months, so my foot is pretty heavy. I love smoking the hemorrhoids, I never had the opportunity to do that before! The new hasn't worn off yet, if you know what I mean.

Re: How many MPG are you getting in your N* Seville/Eldo?

Right now , my 99 Seville SLS is getting about 23.5 MPG between highway and around town. It's about half and half on each. I'm going o Boston in two weeks. When I get back, I'll let you guys know how she does with strictly highway.

Re: How many MPG are you getting in your N* Seville/Eldo?

I have a '94 STS with just over 198K miles, and we avarage 21.8. The engine has a slight miss, and I'm hoping to get the milage above 25MPG when we can track down and eliminate that miss.

Re: How many MPG are you getting in your N* Seville/Eldo?

I am driving a '99 Seville SLS with 59K. I average city/highway @ 21.2mpg, and when on road trips 26-27 mpg easy. My wife drives a '99 Escalade and the best we ever see on the road is 15mpg. Wouldn't drive anything else but a Cadi!!

Re: How many MPG are you getting in your N* Seville/Eldo?

For highway driving, 68-72 MPH with cruise control on seems to be the sweet spot for both the 4.9L pushrod and the 4.6L NorthStar. City driving is far too varied to get any "real" measure of efficiency. The computer is the best source for average. Hands down, the NorthStar is the better of the two engines.

Re: How many MPG are you getting in your N* Seville/Eldo?

I posted this elsewhere but I get about 22.5 with a highway/city mix. Of course, this mileage doesn't include the oil that burns!!!
