Using premium 91/92 octane. Going 72-78 mph get 26MPG without any wind, 24 MPG with a South Dakota wind almost any direction except with the car. Driving with the wind gets better, up big hills on interstate kills it.
60-70 mph get about 28 MPG and know i could get 30 if i could drive 55-60 mph but that aint going to happen.
There is a 2 mile stretch where i set the cruise at 55 and the INST reads 32-36 the whole way, so i would guess 30 if it was a longer stretch.
Im going to try 40-45 psi in the front tires and see what happens. |

And, to answer Vlrench's question; nightwolf's 1979 Sedan deVille with the 4bbl 425cid V8 gets 11mpg and i believe that the '75-76's get around 8-9 mpg. (god am i glad i didnt buy one of those.) |

How come a lot of people in other countries use a comma instead of a period when denoting decimals? |

To be honest I recently bought a 1996 eldorado in west palm beach and drove it all the way back to Pittsburgh pa. Total of about 1200 miles, I typically had the cruise set at 75mph I averaged 24 mpg. Allot of the claims of 25+ I find hard to believe. The car seems to run pretty clean, except at startup, she stinks a lil. runs smooth, I did run 3 bottles of chevron fuel system cleaner through it during the trip, I now read that it is bad to use these products, guess it harms the fuel pump. im really frightened after reading allot of the posts on here, I cannot believe the problems these Cadillac’s have, I mean a $45k-$55k car, you would think they would be allot more reliable. But I did buy the car right. It’s a 96 pretty clean with 49k on the odometer, carfax clean, service records show 2 generator replacements, and I paid $4700. Are these cars really that bad? Time to keep driving my 4.6 thunderbird? This has been trouble free for 150k! |
