    2000 SLS transmission shifting between 2-3 c

    Car shifts around 4000rpm then drops too under 1000 almost killing car please help will go 35mph max

    Does the car feel like it has significantly less power than normal?
    The more you get in the gas, the slower it goes and the later it shifts?

    Yes it does feel like that I hit gaz rpm goes down sun time my rpm won't go over 4k

    Possible clogged cat. Often mistaken for trans problem.

    Hmmm I will check n too that my onscreen display flashes service transmission I just hoping I dnt need a new tranny lord Jesus

    If you have Service Transmission message, there's a code set. It's usually not good.

    Now that I think about it, I've never seen a Service Trans message in one of these cars.
    Does it come on with a trans fault or when fluid life hits zero?

    It happens when some of the trans codes are set, for example, P1811 - Maximum adapt and long shift.

    I've seen & done trans work on many of these cars and have never seen that message.
