    2003 Seville codes

Hi guys I have a problem with my 2003 Seville SLS the on board code reader shows p0741, p0412 and p0418 I know what they all mean thatís why I replaced the emissions relay or also known as air pump relay, EVP solenoid, checked all wires, the map sensor and the TCC solenoid and all codes keep showing up even after erasing all codes on the car and with the tool but the weird thing is that on my scan tool shows p0101 mass air sensor but on the car it shows up as history code so I was hoping someone could help

    Re: 2003 Seville codes

Let's move this to the proper Seville forum.

In the Seville forum there is a sticky post - "How to pull codes". In that post is a link to the code definitions for your OBD-II codes. Please post all your code definitions and whether each code is Current or History. We don't have all thousand or so codes memorized - yet.

P0741 has nothing to do with the TCC solenoid unless it is accompanied by P1860. P0741 alone means there is an internal seal leaking and you have a minor TC slippage. Cheaper to live with it and keep clearing it than to repair it.

The other codes don't ring any bells for me. You need to post the definitions.

    Re: 2003 Seville codes

Our engines have a speed limiter set to 4,000 rpm when in N or P to prevent you from doing just that - abusing the engine with high rpm at no load.

AIR is the system that injects fresh air into the exhaust manifolds during warmup to quickly light off the cat. It uses an air pump on the frame flat inside the LF wheelwell, a solenoid valve at the right (rear) cam cover next to the intake manifod (under the engine cover), and 2 supply/check valves - one on top of the right (rear) cam cover, the other down low next to the air filter box/lower radiator hose - the black domed thingys. AIR is an emissions system and may be the cause of your SES light.

    Re: 2003 Seville codes

Thank you submariner409 I thought the rpm needle going up and down had something to do with the P0741 TCC System Mechanically Stuck Off What do you think I should do about the AIR system I replaced the air pump it has a new air pump relay, EVP solenoid and I checked all wires should I flash the PCM?

P0741 has nothing to do with that. Do a search for it. We have discussed it to death and there is tons of info on it in the archives (what it is, what it means, what it does what the effects are, etc).

Have you considered and checked the AIR pump solenoid? I know those codes point to the relay, but ...............
