Re: Another Caddy In The Stable

It must be monitored. There are 2 DTC's for it (the solenoid, not the valve).
C1737 Exhaust Solenoid Valve Short to Battery
C1738 Exhaust Solenoid Valve Short to GND

There are many monitored components without data wires. A.I.R. pump, damper actuators...

Maybe try a piece of of 2x4 about 3" long screwed to another piece of 2x4 about 18"-24" long in the shape of a L as a soft material pry tool to pry the shifter off...... Maybe even cut a notch in the 3" piece to go around the shifter for a better grab on it..... Seems like alot of work but sometimes ingenuity is what it takes!

It's monitored - all the PCM wiring to/from the ESC Module is not shown in that diagram. You would need to go to the chapters on "Sensors and Switches" to find the data links. There's a whole list of DTC's for the ALC/ELC system........ one begins at C 0655 and another begins at C 1735

Well, I've met my match and I concede. I had a 2' steel bar roughly 2" x 1/2". Cut a slot in it, slipped it under the shift knob and used it like a slide hammer. No luck. Then placed a towel on one edge of the console and pried. I bent the bar. Anyone want to buy a wood shift knob?
