    Freon issue

I had a gauge hooked up to the low side. the ones that hook straight to a can of Freon with a trigger. there was no can hooked to it because I was only checking pressure. My friend who was (helping me) was holding the gauge and pulled the trigger two times and I heard the rush of air.
So I am wondering - Did Freon come out or did outside air go in????

Freon came out. The system is pressureized and without a pressurized can on gauge out comes the freon in the system.

    Re: Freon issue

There was only a small spit of gas and the other 3 seconds looked only like air. Does this affect the pressure and or gas to air ratio or it there no air in there and no matter what I think I am seeing if I were to squeeze the trigger the only thing happening is releasing Freon???

There's no air in the system, you lost refrigerant.

At least there should be no air in there. The system should have been vacuumed down before refrigerant was added.

Throw away the gauge you have and get a real professional gauge set if you'd like to further diagnose into your a/c.
