    Marking on heads 2002 Eldo

So I was doing a little detailing in the engine compartment last night and cleaned off an area that is located on the front head on a flat machined location immediately above the alternator and just right of a bottom valve cover hold down. At this location I found the following marking:

    022502 RAX
    12:25

So this is stamped in the head. Is this typical? Does it mean anything? Do I have the rare, race only RAX racing heads?

    Just curious...

Racing heads go into racing cars idling at ~2000RPM not into street cars that suppose to run smooth.
There are no racing heads on Northsrs that I ever hear of. The closest to that were the 3 peace STS (not racing cars though).

    Another dream shattered...

Do all Northstar heads have a mark or markings at this location?

    it's probably just a date/shift stamp -

I wouldn't get too excited about it -

Specifications and ID markings - all in the GM service manual - shift, line, date, model ID stampings. Same as the VIN derivative stampings on the engine block and transmission case.

................or, at 12:25 PM on Feb. 25, 2002, R. A. Xavier sent the head on down the line.
