Smile 2001 STS Rear 3rd Brake Light Fuse?

    Hi

I went and bought off E Bay a Working Used 3rd. Brake Light.

I though the one on the was Broken.

But when I Disconnect the Light install on the Trunk Now and Put 12volts to the Light it Works.

But No Volts coming into the Connector when I but my foot on the Brake.

Is there a Fuse Just For this Light?

    Thank You For Your Help.

    Pete

No. The same fuse protects all three stoplamps. Do your fender mounted stoplamps work?

If yes, you will have to use your voltmeter to chase that white wire and black wire pair for the trunk mounted stoplamp backward until you locate a damaged/broken wire.

    Hello
    Thank You.

The Black and white wire is taped together. I will have to un tape them and follow them.

    Thanks Again.

Check for a broken wire in the harness leading to the trunk lid. It comes through on the driver side near the hinge. Lots of movement there and the wires have been known to break.

......... also check the wiring harness grounds at the left rear fenderwell body metal - under the trunk carpet.
