Re: POP, pshhhhhhhhhWhoooosh is what came out of my A/C lines somewhere while I was

UPDATE- - I had a gauge hooked up to the low side. the ones that hook straight to a can of Freon with a trigger. there was no can hooked to it because I was only checking pressure. My friend who was (helping me) was holding the gauge and pulled the trigger two times and I heard the rush of air.
So I am wondering - Did Freon come out or did outside air go in????
It came out. Throw that damned thing away and get a real set of A/C gauges.

UPDATE - after installing 48oz of Freon and 3oz oil the low pressure seems to hold at 47-48psi when idling and drops to 43-44 when revved to 2000rpm then back up at idle.
Your low side pressures are too high.

So if I have 48oz Freon in (my dryer says 2lbs on the label) then it must be full so what else can I check
    48oz = 3 lbs. You are overfilled.

    high pressure around 200psi.
How do you know that? You can't check the high side pressure with that Mickey Mouse gauge.

    CONGRATULATIONS -

you have successfully over-pressured the system - AGAIN -

and the LOW side pressure is TOO HIGH -
    ------------------------

    high pressure around 200psi.
and how did you come up with that IMPOSSIBLE number -
squeeze the high pressure line - and guess?

    --------------------------

go back and re-read #26 - then do what it says -

report back with the actual pressure readings -
from a real set of AC gauges -

    ^You beat me to it.

Why would you possibly put in 48oz where 2lbs should be? Why??
More does not make it colder!
Also, too much oil can not only cause low side pressure to be too high but hydro the compressor.

Take it to someone who knows what they are doing before you ruin the whole system.
