Your post has nothing to do with warranty or GM involvement. Moved to the Seville forum.

Why did you add refrigerant? Was it low? What where the high and low side pressures? What are your pressures now?

    ---------------------------------
    to diagnose AC problems -
you need to connect a quality set of guages -

then post BOTH the HIGH pressure readings -
and the LOW pressure readings -

along with the ambient - outside - air temp -

and the air discharge temp at the center AC vent -
with the temp set at 60* and a medium speed fan -

You are tackling a problem with a blindfold and handcuffs on. You need a proper a/c gauge to properly diagnose the problem.

Is there actually a problem? The A/C compressor is supposed to cycle when the cooling demand has been fulfilled. Do you have cold air? If you do, system OK.

If you don't have cold air, and your compressor cycles on and off very quick (in 2 seconds or so), it's most likely low refrigerant, but as mentioned above you need a good gauge set to see. The little plastic gauges with a can of freon won't cut it.

actually - our compressors are NOT designed to cycle -
    they are a variable-displacement design -
that actually changes the piston displacement - rather than cycling -

Are you absolutely 100% sure of this Bass? My neighbor stopped over with my old '97 two days ago and the compressor was cycling, not frequently, but it was cycling. Can't recall for sure if my '03 does, but I think it does. Last time you said this I searched my FSM, but was unable to find any mention of it one way or the other. Color me confused.

    Re: A/C question - 2002 SLS

That's weird, both of mine run constantly until the cabin temperature drops to adequate (set temp) level, then it'll start cycling. I recently had a reman. Ac Delco replacement for the 99, and that one cycles too.
