Re: 1999 STS restore project in France

    hi

So , the first part i changed was the wood console trim under shiftnob , the old one was cut roughly to install a bad gps. in july 2010 i was on a road with a friend , we arrived at a supermarket and we saw liquid under the car ...... it was coolant ( water ), so we filled surge tank with water and monitor engine temp trying to go house. The next day i saw what's happened , a large hole on the metallic hose part between radiator and alternator ,due to rusty. 10 on photo

    alternator cooling.JPG
    consequences :

hose , water pump , belt has been changed

    see you on next episode

Re: 1999 STS restore project in France

    hey guy's back from holiday's ...

So in may 2010 i passed the motor vehicle inspection (MVI) ( every 2 years in France ).every things fine exept rear shock absorber, body corrosion, at this time i didn't known the famous DTC lol. i drove two years with and appeared a oil leak , at first i thought it was minor, but it wasn't...... the outlet and inlet oil cooler line were completly rotten .. bad news because car used more oil than gas

In may 2012 , i decided after the MVI to begin the car restore.......

    big work will begin

Dropping the subframe is the preferred method, but it is possible to yank it out the top.

    Hello,

Maeng9981 i yanked out by top ,not a lot of work..

So i'm not done with my caddy because engine was very dirty, now engine is clean and ready to paint ... But i have a big problem the ground connector G103 is completly destroy. Do you have an idea to replace it ( didn't found on goo..., no seller ) or to modify it ?

    Thx a lot
