No, there were NO '04 STSs produced for the American market. Only the SLS was available, and it was NOT fleet only.

Only thing that could have made it better would have been black/black but it does look clean!

MC, so I could get a new 2004 SLS at the dealer in 2004?
    If so, I stand corrected.

Yes, it was available, just not an STS. Reason being, GM didn't want the upcoming '05 "STS" to come across as a successor to the Seville Touring Sedan.

    ...lots of good that did.

Great looking car! They are getting harder and harder to find in decent shape. I'm very happy with my Deville but I'll always enjoy the time I had with my STS.

Re: Brand new (to me!) baby!

    Ryannel,
Man, you're not kidding about getting harder and harder to find! I had been lurking on a couple of websites just seeing if anything would pop up. I would find late 90's Devilles when a blue-hair passed away, but I wanted to stick with the Seville body style. I got very lucky with this find! I had dinner with a friend Saturday who has a mid 90's Seville SLS and has put more than 250,000 miles on his with no troubles. I'm hoping I got one of those. I'll be ever-vigilant on maintenance like I have been with all my cars. (BTW, no offense if you're driving a late 90's Deville. I don't think you're a blue-hair. Unless you are, and there's nothing wrong with that! :-))

Re: Brand new (to me!) baby!

Gray/White hair - drives fast - plays with cars a lot - works with kids on resto/overhaul projects at Chesapeake Community College (VoTech) - Known to the local high school ricer drivers as "The old fart with the fast red Cadillac !".

FWIW, the last real STS rolled off the Hamtramck line in June, 2003. The 2004 Seville model year (SLS only) ran from July 2003 to mid-December 2003 and that was the end of "Seville". You could either buy a dealer option packaged 2004 SLS off the floor or, for a short time, you could build one out of the "book".

Some overseas countries use the date of first sale/title as the "model year" so it's uncommonly possible to see a "2004 STS" or a "2005 SLS" outside the U.S. We have several UK members - one with a "2001 STS" - but it was built in and has all 1999 MY parts. In those cases, the vehicle build date on the driver's door sticker is the key to the true "model year".

"Model years" can be deceptive - many "2014" MY cars are already on the street .............

"Deville" died in 2005 - the new "DTS" is not a Deville.

Re: Brand new (to me!) baby!

    Scott,
Thanks! The Seville is happy and I am ecstatic! It does have the newer style N* badge on the trunk. Just one more thing I really like about this car. I hope I'm still driving it when it turns over 200,000 miles!
