98 Eldorado Green Coolant Being Used Stay or Switch

I just picked up my 98 Eldo last nite and I noticed it needs a radiator. Doesnt over heat just leaks out the sides, it was leaking Green Coolant which I was shocked it wasnt dex since the previous owner was a stickler with maintence... I have heard the stories of Green being better than dex for the Head gaskets... So my ? is what should I do, add Dex or stay with the Green.... It has 133K and runs excellent and I want to keep it that way.

I do not know what you should do.
    Me?
I would stick with the green.

Whatever floats your boat. They're both excellent coolants - but I would change either at 3 years - religiously.

If you DO change from one to the other, an extended fresh water (garden hose) flush is in order - the two do NOT like to mix.

That said, Prestone now markets a yellow long-life coolant that will mix with any coolant out there ----. Not orange-ish like DEX-COOL - Yellow.

I think it is about personal preference, although I've also heard the new green AF is better.
More important is that you change it out about every two years at most.

I'd stick with what's in it.

Internet myths. Either one will serve it's intended purpose quite well.
