This post moved from a different thread, different car, same problem.
The RIM (Rear Integration Module) is located behind the rear seat back on the passenger side. Four large metal clips near the top of the seat back secure it. A large, flat blade screwdriver works fine to release them by pressing down. Move it from side-to-side to find the clip locations. I know from personal experience that the RIM of a '99 is NOT interchangeable with 2000+! Do it and you will loose the gas gauge!
There is no BCM (Body Control Module). The functions of a BCM are split between the IPM (Instrument Panel Module) and the DIM (Dash Integration Module). The IPM is an integral part of the climate system control unit; the DIM is above and behind the glove box (you have to remove the glove box to access). While I think a DIM from a 2000 will work in a '99, you need a Tech-II to replace DIM modules as there are some vehicle-specific settings in the DIM that can only be accessed via a Tech-II.
100% solid state modules like the RIM, IPM and DIM are extremely reliable and very rarely fail. Like other similar electronic devices if they don't fail when nearly new (due to a manufacturing flaw) they will probably be working perfectly after everything mechanical in the car has worn out.
