    Doesn't turn over?

Does it crank and not start? Or not crank at all?

Re: 2001 STS will not start after car Driving .

I only have the car for a year, bought it used.
I do not know how old Battery is.
    ?
The U codes I hear are nothing to worry about. The C Codes are about Steering.

The B1327 and B1328 has to do with Volts. One says Volts fell below 9 volts the other say Volts went above 15 Volts.

Do not understand. Could it be the Altantor?

    Please advise.
    Thank you
    Pete

I'd use a DVM to test the battery voltage, both static and while cranking (load test). If you don't have a DVM or don't know how, take it to an auto parts store and have them do it.

Re: 2001 STS will not start after car Driving .

I just replaced my battery last Saturday. I had enough, every cold day in winter was sure dead battery, I bought a battery charger (more expensive than the actual battery), probably I end up using it 10 to 15 times over the winter (and even last winter it had problems once or twice). When the weather got warmer I finally was able to put it away until last week when I had to move the car out of the garage and open close doors/trunk several times during the day. In the eve when I was to drive the car back in the garage, totally dead battery! I was in denial, cannot be is less than 3 years old battery and is AcDelco. This battery was a warranty replacement for the previous AcDelco that lasted only 1 year (if so). The shop discovered they installed originally a smaller battery than required. And that battery was to replace the Interstate I had before replacing the original AcDelco battery and this Interstate was good for only 3 years (I blame it on being an Interstate) as the original AcDelco was good for almost 8 years.
So I have never bothered to check the battery type, I just made sure is AcDelco (what I paid for) and that's it.
Well this time I bought the battery myself from the dealer parts counter (not going to a shop) and I kind of notices is a bit larger than I was expecting. When I replaced the battery, clearly the old one was smaller so I checked the label, it was a freakin' group 75 6YR battery instead of 78 7YR (what is required for my car). I don't even want to think what was the previous battery (I clearly remember it was significantly smaller than the group 75 one).
So now thinking back, maybe there was a reason why I had to replace the alternator 3 times after the original battery was gone.

So hint, hint...really pay attention to what battery you get. A '98+ Seville takes group 79 AcDelco, that is in case you diagnose a bad battery and not a loose ground or corroded battery terminals.
