    00 Eldorado turn signal problem

    Hey All,

Thought I would ask the experts this one. I have a new to me 2000 Eldo w/73000 miles. Every thing was working fine until last night the directionals didn't work, but after awhile of driving around they started working again but at first the blink timing seemed slow then again after awhile seemed to be normal. Now this morning they are not working again.

Now the hazards work fine and the side turning lamps light up when the directional lever is moved up or down so not thinking switch in the column. Any input on this would be appreciated.

Edit: Started working again this morning after running awhile??? Also all bulbs are working and no current codes are present.

Re: 00 Eldorado turn signal problem

Well, I'm not an expert but I did just experience this problem.

Symptoms were the turn signal cornering lights would come on, but no flashing. After driving a bit, flashing would occur. Hazards would come on and cause all to flash. After sitting a while, no flashing again.

    Simple fix:

You need a new flasher relay. About $10 if I remember correctly.

Only problem is, where it is located. Easiest thing to do is remove the headlight control panel, and access the relay from there. Hope you have small hands. There is a post on this somewhere, but I cannot locate it at the minute.

Both the hazards and individual flashers are tied into one relay.

    Hope this helps!

EDIT: Here's the link to the post of the location of the relay, and how to change it!

FWIW, In the 2000 and later Sevilles the hazard flasher and turn signal flasher are part of the hazard warning switch in the center of the dash. To repair either one you replace the whole switch. The old price was $40 and labor was 0.6 hour.
