How to change leather steering wheel, shift knob

Was wondering if I can change the leather on the steering wheel, its been scratched, torn and looks extremely ugly. My shift knob looks even worse. So for the steering wheel should I just put a cover over it and save the hassle? And does the shifter top have a way to take it off? Thanks to everyone in advance

    yep, ^^^^

eldorado_sean, it's all in Cadillac Tech Tips and in Discussions, Item Specific: Appearance and Detailing.

If your shift knob does not have a removable E-clip or circlip around the lower part of the ferrule, you grab the knob with both hands and yank straight up - giving yourself a bloody nose.

Will the steering wheel controls work like volume up down and how do you take the wheel off?

Yes. You unbolt your controls from your wheel and bolt them on to this wheel.

So removing the steering wheel is simple as unbolting bolts? And where are the bolts

Under the airbag. 4 t27s hold the bag to the wheel from behind.

I looked in the Eldo classified and didn't see your steering wheel. Did you sell it? I might be interested if you still have it. Hope its shale in color.

    Is it still there?
What color is the leather? My 98 ETC has a shale interior and I'm looking for a SW with wood and the leather in that color.

Yes it's there, and it's shale.
