    STS 2001 AC charging procedure

I need to charge AC with 134a. I have done on other cars but I could not see the low pressure side port on my 2001 seville STS. There is a thiner pipe from compressor to evaporator that has 2 ports on it (one small and one some bigger). I believe it is high pressure side. The low pressure hose that leads from evaporator to accumulator has thicker pipe but I dont see any port on it. Does anyone know where is low pressure side port located so tha I can charge?

    Thanks
    John

The orifice tube (#6) is between the two fittings. That is where it changes from high to low pressure. Those are the two fittings you use. One on each side of the accumulator.

Re: STS 2001 AC chaeging procedure

Thank you Ranger. I was able to charge. The low side pressure was already ok but I charged to a total of about 48psi. The cooling has improved but is still not getting very cold. Any further increase in Freon might take it to the red zone of charging. Any idea what should I check to further improve cooling. Currently it is acceptable but not very cold.

    Thanks
    John
