    2002 el dorado PCM 0734 code

    Hello; I am new to the site so I hope I am in the right area.
    I am getting the PCM 0734 code which indicates a 4th gear issue. I had the car checked at the dealer and at a transmission shop. Both said nothing wrong with the transmission and the code was cleared. This done about 2000 miles ago. Now the code is back, the transmission shop says it is an electrical issue.
    Anyone have an idea what I should check next, as to wiring harness or ground issue?

    Thank you;

    Tony

    P 0734 - Incorrect 4th gear ratio. Unless someone has been inside the transmission (mechanical change) that IS an odd one.

    You can pull and clear your own codes: The car has a perfectly functional built-in scanner/reader/memory. Study the proper year group and procedures in the sticky post just above this thread - "How to pull codes". Then use the embedded link to get to definitions of all P,B,C, and U codes. Whether any found code is Current or History is necessary info to post here, too - as well as all definitions for found codes. We don't have all several hundred codes memorized - yet !

    Thank you for the information. I pulled up the codes the other day, and did see some history codes. I will get them and post them tomorrow. Forgot to mention, the car has 45K and by records I have, no one has been in the transmission.

    Thank you agin;

    Tony

    Re: 2002 el dorado PCM 0734 code

    Here are the history codes:

    SDM1152 has to do with air bag

    TCS1283 vehicle stability enhancement system.
    TCS1186 same as above

    U1300 low voltage. Cause was the battery being disconnected.

    After reading the sticky on how to pull up the codes, I am confused as to how to clear the history codes.

    Thanks again;

    Tony

    At the end of the alphabetical list of modules - the scrolling after each module codes display -- is there a "clear codes" option ? If so, hit "YES".

    The clear codes option does not appear.
