I have no idea ? How do I tell ? It has a black thing stuck to the windshield beside the rear view mirror. Is that it ?

    Yup. That's the rain sensor.

The first position of the lever isn't intermittent, it's the RainSense on position. In that position, the wipers will turn on and off, and adjust speed automatically. The headlights will also stay on if you have sentinel turned on.

OOOOOOOOOOOO ! Well Hell I had no idea ! I thought it was like any other car where you can adjust how fast your wipers cycle.. I guess I'll just have to wait til it rains again to check this out. I'm sorry but I bought the car and the owners manual wasn't with it.

Don't count on that. Rainsense will override that feature. That's why I disabled mine. Rainsense is like liver. You either love it or you hate it.

Ok... Just by chance... it rained here yesterday. I had to go to town, turned on the wipers to the sensor position I guess and... Nothing happened. They never cycled and at different points through town, it literally poured. Now what ?

What is the sentinel ? I know I sound stupid... but I went from a 2000 Ford F250 7.3L to this...

As in next to, or below? Can you take a picture of it?

Twilight sentinel is the auto headlamp/delayed off feature.

130511_0001.jpg Here it is. It sits right beside where the mirror attaches on the windsheild

How do you disable it ? Will you be able to adjust the wiper speed if you do ?

You remove the cover and unplug the wire. Then the intermittent wipers work like any other without being overridden by RainSense.
