    Re: Northstar engine swap

IIRC GM switched to OBDII in 97, some may even have a hybrid OBDI/OBDII system for that year...I don't think a 94 N* will work in a 97 unfortunately but someone a bit more knowledgable will probably chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

There's a sticky on engine interchangeability in the Northstar forums.

OBD II was introduced in '96.

'94 is OBDI and the '97 is OBDII. Ain't gonna work.

The engine block will, nothing else is direct fit.

    Re: Northstar engine swap

Why cant I just use my block and transfer all the parts from mine. Is there some motor mount issues or something like that?

    Re: Northstar engine swap

Wait, what? You want to use YOUR block and swap the parts from YOUR engine back into it and reinstall it back into YOUR car? I know I must be missing something, but I reread post #7 four times and I still don't see it.
