    Best Source for Front Hub/Bearing

Recently, I bought an Arizona 2002 STS (F55 suspension) with 97K with a slight "hum" in the drivetrain. Since the purchase, I replaced all of the fluids, changed the plugs, did a 4 wheel alignment, glued the front edge of the dash down, changed the cabin filter, cleaned and moisturized the leather and detailed the car.

The STS is kept in a climate controlled garage so it isn't exposed to the Arizona sun. I've only had the car for 3 months and drive it sparingly, but so far, I really enjoy it.

My mechanic is extremely knowledgable and recently retired, so the STS is serviced at his home garage saving me the dealer service costs and dealer mark-up on the parts.

Because I buy the parts and take them to him, I'm always seeking the least expensive parts source.

Recently, the drivetrain "hum" has become a louder "growl" indicating to me that the drivers side hub/bearing needs to be replaced.

    1) Would you agree with my diagnosis?
    2) What is the best source for a front hub and bearing?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a hub & bearing assembly.

Check Rockauto and/or Amazon for best prices.

Stick with AC Delco or Timken.

you have good timing - if there is such a thing with repairs -

rockauto.com has the ACDelco #19235930 front hub -
on a "wholesaler closeout" for $70.99 plus shipping -

the Timken 513179 is around $100 from rock auto - or amazon -

Re: Best Source for Front Hub/Bearing

    Thanks to all who responded.

I ordered two hub / bearing assemblies. Even though I'm sure that only one side has a bad bearing; since both sides have gone almost 100K, I decided to replace both sides at the same time so I don't face the possibility of replacing the other side separately in the near future.

Thanks again for your help and suggestions.
