    I assumed the function of the valve would be obvious, and thought you just didn't realize there was one. The valve is between the line and the sensor. When the sensor is in place, the valve is open, and the sensor can read the pressure. When the sensor is removed, the valve is closed, so the refrigerant doesn't leak out.

    Now THAT would make sense and make replacement easy, which makes me wonder why GM would do that.

    I am thinking this sensor may be out of my league... Any ideas on the inlet door? That seems to be something I could probably access under the dash somewhere. I know it has to be faulty because I can't even get fresh air in from the outside environment. It will blow, but very warm air comes out... If I could get that door opened I could perhaps allow outside air in and it wouldn't be so unbearable...

    you will have very little to NO freon loss when changing out pressure sensors they all have schrader valves under them to allow for easy changing without the need to evacuate the system every time you need to change one
