Has been working fine then came to start it this afternoon and won't start when I tried to start it everything lit up on dash but the display say its in drive changed through the gear selector but the D on the display does not change HELP please
Check the shift quadrant on top of the transmission - where the cable attaches - right in front of where your gas pedal toes would lie - under the hood, at the firewall.
Next is the neutral safety switch - not sure about a '99 - ask N*Caddy.
last is the IMS - Internal Mode Switch - on the valve body inside the transmission: pan drop, valve body drop. Not fun.
Car is now working fine filled the cable from gear selector through the fire wall to the gear linkage pushed this back by hand which took it back into park and the car started first time
