Sorry for your lost. Reminds me of my accident. Bumper was twisted the same way only it was mostly bumper, little damage on driver's fender. Upgrade.

Sorry for your loss. The at fault driver is a worthless asshat.

I wouldn't even try to fix her. The estimate on my 03 Seville was nearly 4k and I heard the same advice that has been posted here "there is more damage than meets the eye....will be worse once you start tearing down..." and I only hit a road gator.

Do you want another Eldo or something different?

I am so sorry to see this. You are so blessed to be here among friends. The other driver was just plain rotten. He should have stayed and helped. I just know that the right Cadillac will come your way. Nothing ever replaces your first car but you sure can have fun in something different. Bless you.

I know that I would be devastated if something happened to my "baby." Recently I found my 1997 ETC a very, very good home and yielded to a long-time urge to get a newer car. But that was forced on me too, by a freak thing, loss of compression in one cylinder in a well-maintained, low-mileage engine.

I suggest picking what you want, such as a 2002 ETC, and doing a car search once a week or so on cars.com and the car search on kbb.com and other marketing channels for reputable sellers and locate your next car.

I've got a '99 ESC that needs an engine and interior. Where are you located? I might be interested in buying it off you if the price is right.

@lawrence, I've got those 1/4 windows if you need them. I'm near Akron Ohio

I am glad that you didn't get hurt as that is what really matters. There may be an emotional attachment that you have to that car and I get it, I bet most people on this forum feel the same way, however there is just too much damage to try to repair. I ran into mechanical problems with my 2001 ETC, one thing after another I just kept pushing through with the repairs until the transmission went. I finally came to the point where I just couldn't afford the car, especially when there are still some great buys out there. I have a 2002 Collector's Edition ETC that I love more that any car I have ever had, just turned 41K and it's still like new.

Keep your car and buy another one that is the same (not wrecked) use the wrecked one for parts when needed.

I am so sorry for your loss, just glad you walked out of it. I would part your car out and buy another one. I bought mine, looks like new, just rolled over 100k for 3600.00. They are out there, you just have to beat the bushes. With so much front end damage, I'd be scared that it wouldn't travel correct and eat tires and bearings like no tomorrow.98 Eldorado.jpg

Re: I wrecked my Eldorado. Is this the end? (PICS)

Hey everyone. Just wanted to give an update. I ended up buying another 2000 Eldorado, but an ETC instead of the ESC for $3250. It has 145,000 miles, but what seems like a good engine and transmission. No DTCs are set and the only problems are the trunk lid wouldn't pull down (fixed it) and the sunroof seems to be leaking slightly into the trunk (the drain tube I'm guessing). I'll post pictures soon.

By the way, if anyone is interested in buying the wrecked black Eldorado, it's missing a few parts that I've taken off, but the engine + transmission + interior is all there. It's just missing most of the cooling system components now. I'll sell the entire car to anyone from these forums for $300. I'm located in a suburb of New Orleans and I have a clean title. If anyone needs parts as well, I might be able to help you out.

I still say you did good and should keep the parts mobile.

I know you bought a new one and don't know where you are, but I just happened to notice this listing and thought it might of interest to someone in the Toronto area:
