It's white so it looks like a whale. I thought he had spent 7k recently but he said ad does not say that. Only 7k total.

Hey, if you like your STS and enjoy driving it and owning it why wouldn't you keep it for another 7 years. There is really nothing comparable, at anywhere near the price, to replace it with so why not keep it up and enjoy an espciallt nice personal car!

Umm, not so much. OP is posting his cost of repairs. I threw in a comment about another caddy owner who had spent 7k on repairs over 20 yrs. both comments are about repair costs. Now, if someone could say they spent almost nothing on repairs over 20yrs than I would be impressed

I think except for the motor mounts the prices were fair, especially at retail and the mounts well I dont know how hard it is to replace them.

If the shop does good work and you are happy with them priceless. Mike

Repairs depend - if you have the work space and tools, owning an upscale car can be pretty "inexpensive", maintenance-wise. If you are a bit less "gearhead" then the local good Mom&Pop shop is a godsend. If you take your car strictly to its brand dealer it can be expensive, particularly in the case of our FWD "luxury" cars with their bells and whistles. For someone who does almost no maintenance work on these cars themselves it's not unheard of for the biannual trip to the dealer for recommended maintenance and a repair to come out well over $1,000 in invoices.

Well its not a Cadillac but my Mothers 2000 Villager hit 82K we have owned it sicnce 2001. And have spent less then $800 in repairs its a good car that almost causes no problems other then the damn tire that got a key in it. When she hits 100K Miles i plan on doing a full tune up on her struts and other odds and ends. But i think you paid a fair price not horrible but as long as your happy that's what counts.

    well - this isn't a Cadillac either - but

    I have a 1978 Gilson 8HP snowblower - that I bought used -
I only had to replace one spark plug - and two drive belts -
    in the last 15 years - THAT'S IT -
except the annual grease job and oil changes of course -

I had an IBM Selectric II typewriter that cost me as much as the regular maintainence on one of my Jaguar XJ's, and would have cost me a lot more if I hadn't tossed it out the second story window!

My Mother had a diamond studded Rolex lady's watch which cost way more in maintenance than my Lamborghini 350 GT during the ten years I owned the car!
