    There is nothing to wear on the drive pulley unless the tensioner bearing seizes and the belt starts slipping and melts the drive pulley. Me thinks you just got a lesson in the school of hard knocks, where the test comes before the lesson and tuition can get pricey. That said, lessons learned are never forgotten.

    This job is headed for disaster. The drive pulley won't "wear" unless the tensioner pulley or the water pump freezes dead solid.

    Their right Vince I wouldn't remove the drive pulley the water pump is easy to replace your making this job harder than it needs to be

    It looks horrible in pictures. In person, it's nowhere near that bright. It's painted the same 3 stage crimson as the rest of the car.

    Ok, so the cam shaft had to be replaced, lesson learned. Lets file this thread to the dumbshit diy's graveyard section...tensioner, and pulley replaced succesfully afterwards. My pump is good so ill return the new one along with the tools i rented. This is the first job i truly screwed up

    camshaft had to be replaced? valve cover had to come off?

    2000+ Northstars use coil on plug ignition, 1 front and 1 rear coil cassette from '00-'03. No wires.
