I have a 99 Eldorado, and the right (passenger) side window refuses to go down (it goes back up just fine). After much testing, I discovered I could make the window go down by using a "jumper wire" connecting CKT 166 (LTBLU) to ground. Can anyone tell me if it would be possible to permantly attach this "jumper" to provide ground for wire CKT 166 (LTBLU) without causing any damage to the circuit or anything else? I am attaching the wiring diagram and the circuit description. Many thanks if somebody has an answer.
The wiring goes through the master(drivers switch) then to the passenger switch. If there is an issue with the master switch you can get weird things happening.
Couple questions for ya. Are you jumping at the R switch or motor?
Have you check for continuity between drivers wiring and right switch?
These are strange critters, they actually use ground to complete circuits instead of positive. So you have to be careful.
I would not suggest you install the jumper as you described. Sounds to me like a switch(or broken wire) is bad since you can get the motor to work.
