1998 SLS Ignition Switch R&R Question

    Hello All,

Need to do my IG switch in a week or so. Have part in hand. Does anyone know how the procedure differs from the one posted last Sept. for a 2000 SLS? Can you Ranger, Desert Rat and TERNSTES helped out on this. Any special areas to concentrate on or special tools required?

Re: 1998 SLS Ignition Switch R&R Question

The ignition switch is generally very reliable, rarely something is really wrong with it, most of the time is diagnosed wrong ("car dosen't start must be the ignition switch"). Is true the rate of failure is greater in gen V than gen IV Seville but still pretty rare.
With this in mind, having the issue 100% diagnosed correctly, you should get access to the switch once you remove the HU.
