multi swtch broke on 91 eldorado

hi guys. i hit my leg on the mutli switch on the steering collumn and broke off the signal light switch lever. By my cadillac manual it shows the lever pulls out, problem is it's broke off to where i can't get ahold of the steel rod. Can anyone give me any advice on how to deal with this. i don't want to mess up the rest off the switch thanks

I suspect it is threaded in. If it's broken off flush, you might get away with some micro surgery. Drill a small hole in the broken piece and then tap it and install a small screw with some Loctite on the threads (I don't think they make easy outs that small). Once the Loctite sets, you might be able to remove the piece. Not gonna be easy, but you've got nothing to loose as the only other alternative is to pull the steering wheel and get down to the multi-function switch and replace it. You'll need a lock plate tool for that.

I had a similar problem last year with the same year of Eldorado. I put on the turn signal and the whole multi - function arm fell out. It is not threaded in. It is held in with a small roll pin. To remove it, you turn the arm toward the dash and it pulls straight out but in your case, you will probably need to take the steering column apart.
