    Modifications and paint ideas...

Ok Ive been thinking about painting....

ive been eying these colors (these are my friends cars we roll lacs only)

I wanted to know how bad of an idea would it be to shave off my antenna and installing and internal one ...it doesn't work its kinda bent and makes my car look like and rc car

also if possible you guys give me some paint ideas

i like white but it gets dirty and every body and their mom has a white or red (even candy red or wine berry) Eldog...plus i need a paint that looks good on this body style also one that looks good with flakes

My neighbor has a candy coated root beer Seville opera sitting on 8... its clean I thought about that color with gold flakes snuck into the paint... but i feel that's a color reserved for classics and itll probably make my car look like a turd

i need something to breathe new life into my eldog its currently a tan/gold 1995 esc its boring no matter how many times i shine and wax it (it doesn't POp)

^^^also one of my chrome fenders chipped (kid hit it with bike) so i took a trip to the junk yard and got a replacement once I got it home I noticed its all fogged up my others outshine it :-( is their a way to restore this or paint it over?

    FINAL PROJECT

airbags to support extra weight from audio

benz turning lights on side rear views (as seen on my friends green eldog in picture)

phantom suicide doors (Ive been looking but guess i have to machine my own hinges >:-z )

redo seats back to shale with screens and Cadillac logo stitched in

E&G verticle grill and chrome nude lady (I already have her sitting on their guiding the way :-) )

17" gorillas wrapped in vogues w/ 5th and 6th wheel (I don't know if i want buckles on the trunk yet...its a small trunk and the 6th wheel barely fits on their you can see that in the black cars photo

last but not least paint...kandy paint :-)

I should be ready to pull out by next spring i have to finish my audio install
I have to build my amp rack and fiberglass my mids into the doors i could've been done Ive been lazy

    Re: Modifications and paint ideas...

Yeah to each his own...i know some would say its ugly but you have to respect a set of vogues (mayonnaise & mustard) wrapped around anything chrome...discs,30's, even oldschool TRU wires and played out blades

this will not be an everyday car just weekends ...same way people pull out their bikes and hot rods on the weekend this is what i do

their are a lot of cars that shouldn't be "Slabbed" (put together to ones liking) or accessorized but the Cadillac is known for vogues and E&G chrome grills & pieces...

to me these are the only ugly things done to a Cadillac

    28"rims on Eldorado
Gold editions even though considered rare they are ugly
Biarritz editions are ugly to me
    super fly grill
cant stand rag tops on some models especially quarters and halves

even the stuff i mentioned above is better than some of those ugly eldorado body kits and spoilers (well the spoiler looks decent on silver and white IMO)

and yep Submariner409 im serious (and btw thanks again you and Ranger helped me out with the idle problem know that things are back up and running... I can continue my evil plan (i just came from the junkyard got me some big Cadillac emblems off the rear hatch of an escalade (im gonna use em somewhere in the car thinking about that empty square near the glove box under the air vent) and other minor parts

and I asked about some paint ideas c'mon yall just making sure im not over looking some cool colors

you have to respect a set of vogues (mayonnaise & mustard)

I was in the tire business for 25 years - let me share a secrete with you -
as far as tires go - Vogue tires suck -
they are way overpriced - hard riding - very poor traction -
but some people think they are pretty -
    --------------------------

what I really don't understand on all those cars -
why have the center of the chrome spoke wheels sticking out so far?
was that done on purpose? - Why?

to me these are the only ugly things done to a Cadillac
I totally agree with everything on your "ugly" list - and more -

^^^AGREED and yeah ppl ride vogues because of the look i know they suck price sucks too (some have lifetime warranty on replacements so they don't car if they blow)

heres the thing with those Cragar star wire remakes

It started as a Houston thing people got tired of riding Daytons, discs and vogues, regular 30 spokes and tru wires and found something we could call our own

back in the day in my city (Houston Tx) a guy pulled up with a set of 83 Eldorado FWD rims on his car and bragged about how he could sit on his rims...and rode of with his elbow poking out the window (that's where the nickname elbows came from) and the name swanggas come from ppl playing in the street swerving their cars lane to lane skipping in from of each other

the company who bought the license from Cragar to remake them went overboard with the center piece after a while making them look like circus clown rims

I like Swangas thing is it seems everyone has them now and Texan Wheel and Tires keep the price HIGH on them like $2500-3500 new and $1500-2200 street price

i could buy 3 sets of shiny cadillac rims at that price

bad thing is people are still being killed over them even though they"re not $10,000 a set anymore and anyone can get them with a little saving

also i wouldn't go over 17" gorilla pokes it gets ugly after that size

UGLY and dumb (this wouldn't even look good on a big fleetwood)
    292b83761bf811e2b8031231380f8ca7_6.jpg

    Cool not overdone
    44461640.jpg

I gotta put em on as i have my 5th wheel and 6th already

Sorry Cadillac did it to themselves...you could get them as an add on when buying a new car...they were discontinued because they had a design flaw where the spokes would break ..(I believe the Seville even had an option)

Eldorado - is a Luxury car for businessmen and pimps alike that's why there's a big long window so you can cruise around slapping and collecting your money from multiple girls at once lol

This was the last manly looking car (besides the DTS and XTR) Cadillac made that i like...i wish they would come on out with the Ciel concept (that would be my new ghetto cruiser so i can stretch down the block :-) ...that cars long its made for making "cadillac turns" (turning corner real wide and slowly lol)
