I'll put it together with photos and diagrams to make it more complete, then send it directly to you, Sub, for inclusion into the stickys.
Should be ready within a few - 7 days.

No sorry - just that the amount of work you put in should be saved for all - instead of everyone having to do endless searches.

There are several oil filter adapter and CKP pictures and diagrams in my albums - you're welcome to use what you need.

The Tech Tips is a LOT of pages of "how-to" threads that almost no one seems to bother reading.

Re-post your work here, we'll all go over it and edit it - then, when you're happy, I'll move it to Tech Tips with a long redirect left in here.

I can't easily find a maximum size for photos offered in a "How to" can someone please share a max size or "windows explorer" recommended size ( eg: web small or some such? )
Thanks; I'm trying to post up the photo set to match the write up to begin the comment period.

IIRC, The photos never did get posted to the original writeup........ Post 12. Sometime in October/November of 2012 would put it way back in Tech Tips.

Dear God, i could not tackle that with my tools or work area. How much is this at a dealer or a good mechanic? Parts and labor?

Re: 2003 STS, oil pan leak

For your car, the labor time alone is 14 hours. Parts and necessary replacement stuff extra -------- NOT an easy job.

Cadillac dealerships have an "engine holding tool" - a set of beams and hooks and turnbuckles that suspend the engine in the engine compartment so the cradle and suspension, as well as the transmission, can be removed.

It's cheaper to add the oil.

This is a major flaw with our cars, does BMW or Mercedes have a similar issue on there best engines?

Re: 2003 STS, oil pan leak

This is a flaw with some of our cars - very few, in fact............. and ANY engine from ANY manufacturer can develop oil pan gasket/seal leaks.
