1998 Seville - Air blend door problems

What does anyone suggest I do to fix my a/c problem? It only blows out cold on the passenger side & hot on driver side...? The rear vents work also. Heat works fine on both sides. Can simply recharging the a/c solve this issue? That's what someone told me to do. It does maybe need recharging because it doesn't get as cold as I think it should.

Get down to Cadillac Tech Tips and find the threads (many pages) on how to remove the glove box and passenger side kick panels to get to the HVAC blend door actuators.

Google something like "cadillac forums 1998 seville air blend door actuator" or "cadillac forums 1998 seville hvac blend door motor".

............ and "charging the A/C" on one of these critters is more than just hooking up an el-cheapo can of R134a. It's properly done by total refrigerant weight from scratch.

Not necessarily. ANYTHING can be done on a car by the layman, you run into problems with time, tools, and space.

No vacuum involved - HVAC console and sensor-controlled stepper motors on the blend door shafts. (Hmmmmm........... 1998 - the parking brake release is vacuum.................. or did the '98 go to the solenoid ?)

Dastro79, I started a new thread up in Seville concerning your air blend door problems. You'll get more advice up there than you will in 'Engines". "1998 Seville - Air blend door problems"
