Question Digital display in the console has stopped working

Hi guys! Thanks for your earlier advice on the coolant bottle. We're doing great in that department now.

We have since had a problem with the theft deterrent system and battery and ignition module. The car suddenly "turned off" while driving and we couldn't get it started again. The theft deterrent system also locked us out with "starting disabled" and "wait 3 min." messages. We tried cleaning the key, tried the back-up key, and "resetting" the computer by disconnecting the battery for the day. Same message, only the fuel pump and starter would engage, just no "turn over". I'm sure it's frowned on, but I bypassed the key chip since we couldn't afford a replacement cylinder. The battery gave up the ghost during all the tries at starting it before bypassing, so we replaced the battery too. The car still would not start, but at least the "disabled start" messages were gone. We finally tracked the issue to the ignition module in the distributor, replaced it, and the car came back to life!

A couple days after getting it running again and the digital display working great as per usual, the a/c started working (it hadn't been since we bought it) and nearly simultaneously the digital display cut out. It's been dark since.

Is it possible I knocked something loose while working under the dash and it came disconnected later? Fuse? Advice on what to look for and check to find the problem? Thanks guys!

    What is your battery voltage?
Do you have codes (don't care if History or Current)?
The IPC is power supply for all the VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) in your car (except the one on the rear view mirror).
If the battery voltage falls below 9.(x?) volts the IPC will shut down this supply line thus all the VFDs will go dark (I am talking IPC, HU, Climate Control).
You suppose to do the bypass at the IPC connector is easy to work and all wires are solidly attached, can't go wrong.
But regardless what you did just inspect every single wire you touched.

Wait, I was under the impression we are talking about a 9x Seville. Is this about a 89 Eldorado, because if it is...count me out.

Yah, an 89 Eldorado. Brand new battery. Thanks anyway. I hope someone else can help! The "check information center" light comes on sometimes... but I can't cause it's dark... and I'd really like to check the codes too!
