Proper coolant service for 4.6L Northstar engine

Hey fellow caddy heads, I was wondering if anyone knew what the proper coolant service consisted of for the Northstar engines. I don't want to end up with my heads separating from the block like others have in the past. What is the correct coolant to use as well?

Dex or green doesn't really matter - change it every 2 years

The heads will go because the bolts pull from the block, not because of coolant, some say its the coolant. If coolant was the cause then even studs or serts would still cause failure but they dont imo.

With that said, get a coolant flush done, GM recommends 50/50 Dex-Cool. And change it religously every 2 years, dont neglect this.

....... and, for your 2000 SLS, while you're doing a coolant exchange, inspect the water pump drive belt and tensioner pulley: That tensioner pulley - given its age - can fail at any time and leave you stranded. The tensioner pulley/bearing can be had for $25 from RockAuto. Gates. Pictures in my albums.
