    Stumbling issues - 1994 Eldorado

When going down the road at operating temperatures, while giving just a small amount of gas the engine seems to stumble or missfire, and sometimes even will completely stall after you take your foot off the pedal. When I unplug the EGR valve it works fine, but when I plug it back in the troubles come back. Already tried replacing the EGR valve but it had no effect. Any suggestions? (Besides just leaving it unplugged)

    Re: Stumbling issues

Any trouble codes associated with either the EGR valve itself or the circuitry ? It sounds like the valve is being commanded full open too early in the throttle position sensor cycle - thus "leaning out" the engine, causing a stumble............. Plugged up EGR passages would not cause a stumble - part-throttle spark ping, maybe - but not a stumble.

    Re: Stumbling issues

only code i get with everything plugged in the way its supposed to be is P080 (throttle pos/idle relearn process not learned) cant get the code to go away most likely because of whatever issue is causing the EGR issues. I replaced the PCM, ECM, coils, spark plug wires, and spark plugs within the past month as well. When i unplug it i get the codes you'd assume would pop up with it unplugged
