The stock HU is (was) part of the serial data bus, and anti theft system. You can install an after market unit, but you MUST use the correct adapter harness, a Metra GMOS-6.

Yes, the harness for the HU. The GM03/GM03B is the WRONG one.

Re: cadillac seville sts 2002 electronic not working ok

2001 and newer Sevilles utilize a "data bus" -
this connects virtually every electronic module throughout the entire car -

if one particular module needs the information that is flowing through the bus -
it takes that bit of information - if not -
that bit of information continues along the bus -
until it reaches the particular module waiting for that bit of information -

when you pulled out the factory radio - you broke the link the data bus uses -

The module you have for the steering wheel controls, and the module for the "dings", have nothing to do with the harness for the HU.

Try Amazon for the GMOS-6, I'm sure it'd be cheaper than retail.

ok thanks will check out Amazon so the pac for the steering wheel controls is something eles from the harness for the HU ok how about the open door bell sounds scratchy can this be caues too by the wrong wire hamess or a bad wireing or bad connection

edit : i just talk to sonicelectronix they did tell me they sent me the wrong wire hamess it was not the GMOS-6 but when i want to hook up the system they did install a adapter harness but i think it was not the onstar the GMOS-6
