    1992 Eldorado Touring Coupe

While cleaning the throttle valve and trying to get the E085 code off my system the engine went to a high idle and something made a loud popping noise... I suspect motor mounts since the engine rocked upward from the front. I can find nothing on mounts for a '92 ETC with a 4.9
Car also stays at a set speed while going down the road without even using cruise control. When I brake it doesn't downshift till just before a complete stop.
    Any ideas?????

    Re: popping noise? motor mount

It sounds like you have a bad occaisional misfire at high idle. I've seen this before during emissions testing. It usually means you need a tuneup. Do a complete tuneup and it'll probably go away.
