Re: Air bag light on: CODE B0065

The seat belts, buckles and tensioners are part of the air bag system. Before you start throwing money at sensors and parts, try this:

Key:OFF. Fully - all the way to the stops - extend and retract the shoulder and lap belts several times. Buckle and unbuckle the belts several times. For more black magic, operate the seat and headrest adjustments to their travel limits several times. Reset the seats to your personalization settings.

Turn the Key:ON and cross your fingers.

Don't bother with the belts. I've now had the retractor covers off of the belts in a '99, '00, '01, and '03. There are no electronics/wires involved, they will not set a code. The only electronics on the buckle assembly are for the pretensioners, nothing to the buckles themselves, other than the sensor on the drivers side that detects if the belt is buckled or not, and illuminates the belt warning on the IPC.

Moving the seats back and forth moves the under seat wires and connector for the side impact airbag. You can either move the seats, or reach under and move them around yourself. That usually takes care of it.

You only need to move the seat on the side setting the code.

Hey SUB I got this code after having my car detailed. found a plug loose under driver seat. most likely knocked loose when they vacuumed under the seats. Thanks for the tip on what to try.
