    Re: Check Fuel Gage message

Do you have the instrument panel display set to only show the digital readouts, and not the analog gauges? If so, the fuel gauge is not visible, and that message will display when you are low on fuel.

    Re: Check Fuel Gage message

I think (not sure) check fuel gauge comes up around 1/4 - you get another message when it hits the bottom of the gauge.

CHECK FUEL GAGE - 50: This message will appear
when the fuel supply is less than 5 gallons (18.9 L) and
the display is turned off. A single chime will also sound
    when this message is displayed.

FUEL LEVEL LOW - 11: This message serves as a
warning that the fuel level in the tank is critically low.
Stop for fuel soon. A single chime will also sound when
    this message is displayed.

    As always, read the manual...

ah ok cool i didn;'t know this
so if your using the digital only and not using the analog at all
then once it hits down to the last 5 gallons check fuel guage will come on
but it won;'t come on like that if its in analog mode ?

You'll also get the check fuel gauge message instantly if you switch to digital only, after the gauge is below 1/4.

As for the gas cap message, it doesn't come on right away if the cap is left off, otherwise you'd get the message every time you filled up. I'm not sure if the exact conditions for it to display, but if you left it off long enough, it should come up.

The PCM will record operating conditions at the time the DTC sets. This information will be stored in the Freeze Frame and Failure Records.
A first failure of this DTC will store in Last Test Failed but not History.

You're not alone. Exact same issue for me this morning, and I also switched the display from metric to standard. Then the Low Range message appeared, so I will fill up the car and hopefully that will take care of it. Thanks.
