I'm not sure if it went to one o'clock when I got off the exit and stopped at the first light but I noticed it while I was driving and it didn't go back to normal till I got home and let it idle with AC off for a minute or so.if the temps stay up while driving what is the cause of that?

If the temps stay up while driving it could be many things.

What's some off the simpler things to check.purge flow is good and not losing coolant.lately when I stop at a light it will go up some and it will take a while to go to normal even after driving but today it went to one o'clock while after driving from a stop light but I got home soon as it went up so not sure what would of happened if I kept driving.

Cap holding pressure, belt tensioner, condenser fins clean, thermostat, air dams in place.

The plastic air deflectors/flow formers at the sides, as well as above and below the radiator. The upper "radiator sight shield" and the lower "splash shield". They're a part of the cooling system airflow control system to insure airflow, whether from vehicle motion or fan effect, goes through the radiator fins instead of around.

Oh damn when I got the car it didn't have the splash sheild on the bottom but the temp never rised especially how Hot it was last summer , never moved of the half way mark till this past spring when it wasn't even Hot outside.I guess I'll start with the cheap and easy stuff first like cap and thermostat.would the pump or belt cause ever temp to go up and down while moving?

Are those rubber flaps on the side of the radiator part of the air damns? Also this didn't start recently till after I got a coolant flush when they changed the tranny

Yes, they channel air through the condenser and radiator.

Oh ok the one on the divers side that attaches to the frame/body of car was disconnected on one side, would that be enough to make the temp rise

If the purge line is flowing does that mean the water pump is working?

Yes. If the pump is spinning, and not making noise or leaking, it's "working".

    Oops, Ranger beat me.
